Today's Food share at the Office!

Today's food share at the office. A friend of mine and I combine our lunches everyday, which we refer to as our daily food share! She brings whatever and I bring whatever and we always end up with an amazing lunch! Check out today's lunch which we are enjoying as I write!

Kale salad with sweet onion, cucumber, red pepper and avocado. Apple slices, tomato slices, pomelo, carrot sticks and blueberries. Seasoned with black pepper, garlic combo! Yummy!

2014! Already! Chocolate Balls - Yummy and Easy!

I have not posted for a while - a long while. I took a long break from the computer and joined a bible study and really wanted to put the majority my time, into the Word, my bible study, my husband and my family! It's good and healthy to take breaks from technology.

2014 - already! The year did not exactly start how I had planned, but I am still giving God thanks and praise. Looking forward to a year of good health!

Here is a quick and easy recipe. I did not do any measuring. Sometimes I open the pantry and just start tossing things into the food processor and for the most part they turn out very yummy!

Raisins. Raw Pumpkin Seeds, Raw Cashews 

Honey, Cacao powder, Coconut oil - all Raw

Mix together in the food processor, roll into balls!

The Most Amazing Raw Carrot Muffins with Cashew Cream Icing!

It has been a very LONG time since I have blogged. I have a back log of photos and items to share with you. I try to take sometime away from the computer every now and then, as it can become very overly consuming.

To date in my get healthy journey I really want to stress,  that during this transition/lifestyle change you need to get in tune with your body.  You need to keep a log, a record of what you eat and when you feel uncomfortable, write it down. How you felt, what you ate, what was the consequences.  You really have to make sure your body is getting everything it requires. I have seen people eat raw and then have low iron - people not getting enough protein. People who are tired, and dragging. You need to do your research and find that perfect balance that works for you. Which foods work for you. By all means stay away from ALL processed foods. Make sure you read labels, if you can make it fresh, although it might take more time, might not be as convenient, your body will thank you later!  I for one have many nuts that I just can not digest, some being brazil nuts, almonds, walnuts. However, I can eat cashews and I love them! Every BODY is different. I have a hard time with vegetables that produce a lot of gas. Again you need to find that perfect balance, mixed with exercise and lots of fresh juice. I love my green juice. I drink 1L of green juice a day minimum!

I will post some green juice recipes in the next couple days!

Back to the "The Most Amazing Raw Carrot Muffins with Cashew Cream Icing!"

So I do not have exact measurements, I just took out the food processor and started to cram things into it.

Carrot Base

Fresh Carrot Pulp
Raw Cashews
1 Tsp Tumeric
1 Tsp Cinnamon
1 Small Piece of Vanilla Bean

Put all ingredients in food processor and mix until all mixed well. Scoop out into muffin liners.

Cashew Cream Icing

Raw Cashews Soaked 6 Hours
Juice from 3 Oranges
small piece Vanilla Bean
1/2 Tsp Cinnamon

Blend until creamy! Top Muffins and place in fridge to get cold and harden, then enjoy!!!

Beautiful Sprouts

I have not written in a while. Things are very busy as usual. I will update you on my gardening soon. We made wonderful cedar garden boxes in the back yard and we are growing, many different kinds of tomatoes, beans, lettuce, carrots, squash, cucumbers!!! It is all so exciting for the children to see how a tiny seed can grow such a wonderful plant that yields food. Our lettuce, swiss chard and spinach however is not growing well, we might need to try again...

We started everything in mini greenhouses and then took the plants outside! So exciting.

Love sprouts! Top any salad with these and you have a wonderful flavour. You can get many different varieties of sprouts. I am so thankful for the Greenbelt Greenhouse just outside of town!

Raw! Raw! Raw! - Just Eat it!!!!

Summer is here - well almost for the most part the warmer weather is here - now hopefully it stays!

Time for planting and eating good home grown local food!

I wish I could grow mangoes, I love mangoes! Oh well, honestly lunch can be so easy, a little imagination and in 5 minutes or less you can have an extremely satisfying lunch!

Green juice!

Celery, Cucumber, Kale, Apple

Glorious Greek - Raw Dressing

Mixed Greens
Balsamic/Olive Oil

Healthy is so tasty! I love spring/summer - I can not wait for the farmers market.

Raw Fudge

Made this over the Easter weekend and I am really not one for sweets. I usually prefer salty to sweet, but I honestly had a hard time not over indulging.

So Simple!

Raw Fudge
1/4 Cup Raw Cacao (Giddy Yoyo)
1/4 Cup Raw Nut Butter
1/4 Cup Raw Coconut Oil
3 Tbsp Raw Honey
Top with Raw Cashew!

Mix, drop in mini muffin liners, refrigerate and enjoy!
Keep refrigerated so they stay firm...All I need to say is Yummy! Hmmmmmm

Sprouted Kamut Bread

This was a great sandwich, I really enjoyed it. I will keep it short, sweet and simple!

Sprouted Kamut Bread
Handcrafted the heated slowly at low temperatures to maintain the enzymes necessary for digestion.

Great as a sandwich or as a snack by itself.

I love my greens. Pack it full. Organic Pea Shoots, Cucumber and Organic Spinach! Add your favourite raw dressing.
